Nationality Requirement for NEET 2020

Candidates with the following nationality can appear for NEET 2020 Exam:

  • Indian
  • Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
  • NRI and Foreign Candidates

Age Requirement for NEET 2020

A candidate must not be younger than 17 years and not older than 25 years as or on 31st December of the year of the admission. For the candidates who belong to the reserved categories enjoy age relaxation for 5 years, which means the maximum age limit for such candidates 30 years.

How Many Times Can Candidates Appear for NEET Exam?

The NEET authorities have made some changes in the number of attempts for NEET-UG 2020. As per the recent notification, a candidate can appear in as many times as he/ she wants within the given age limit. Earlier, candidates could only apply for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Exam three times only.

Educational Qualification Requirement for NEET 2020

A candidate must clear his/ her 10+2 or HSC with at least 50% (40% for OBC/SC/ST candidates). He/she must have cleared Physics, Chemistry and Biology subject with at least 50% in aggregate. In case of PH/PWD category – a candidate needs to score 45% marks if he/she belongs to Gen-PH and 40% if he/she belongs to SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH.

How much Do I Need to Pay as Application Fee for NEET UG 2020?

A candidate needs to pay Rs. 1400/- to complete the application process. The candidates belonging to SC, ST and PH categories need to remit Rs.750/-.

Important Documents Required for NEET 2020

  • The scanned copy of your recent photograph. It should be in JPG format and file size must be between 10KB and 100KB. Make sure that the photograph is taken with a white background and the candidate’s name and date of photo taken must be mentioned at the bottom of the Photograph.
  • The scanned copy of your signature. It should be in JPG format and file size must be between 3KB and 20KB.

The aadhaar card is not mandatory for the NEET exam 2020.

  • Using prefixes in the name of Mother or Father is not allowed.
  • Name, date of birth, gender must be as per Aadhaar card or correction request.
  • Mobile number and email address must be provided when asked.

  • Go to the official website of NTA NEET (www.ntaneet.nic.in) and find the ‘apply online’ link for the NEET Exam 2020. Click on it.
  • Carefully read all the important instructions and perform the online registration steps (first part of the application). Simply follow the on-screen instruction to complete the online registration.
  • Once you complete the online registration, a registration number will be generated. Note down the registration number for further steps.
  • Log-in to your account using the generated registration number and fill in the required information as suggested like Personal Details, Birthplace information, Contact Details, Domicile of Candidates, Parents/Guardians Details, Applicant’s Details, Qualifying Details, State Quota, Language of examination, Choice of examination centre.
  • Review the information provided in the application form carefully before clicking on the ‘submit’ Make sure to properly check the information marked in red before submitting the form.
  • Once submitted, you will be then prompted to upload the scanned documents such as Photograph, Signature and Finger Impression in the required dimension and size.
  • After that, you will be prompted to make payment either through E-Challan or Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card.
  • Once payment is done successfully, you will get a reference number on your registered email id and/ or phone number. Keep it safe for future correspondence.

Note: Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready before starting to fill the NEET 2020 application form. Eligibility for NEET 2018 Entrance Exam

Aspirants who are willing to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 can scroll down the article to check the eligibility criteria. Eligibility Criteria and Qualification Requirements

 Eligibility criteria for NEET (UG) as specified in Indian Medical Council Act-1956/Regulations (amended in 2016) and the Dentist Act-1948/Regulations (amended in 2016).

  1. Candidate should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or completed the age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of MBBS/BDS Course.
  2. The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for those belonging to OBC/SC/ST category.
  3. Number of attempts for each candidate is limited to 3. NEET 2017 will be considered as the first attempt.
  4. Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG)-2018.
  5. Aadhaar Card is mandatory to apply for NEET for all Indian citizens.

Qualification Requirements and Qualifying Examination Code

 CODE 01

 A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination (Class 12 exam) in 2018 and whose result is awaited may apply and appear in the test. If he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required marks at the time of first round of Counselling, he/she will not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS course.

CODE 02

The Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or the Senior Secondary Examination, which is equivalent to 10+2, comprises Biology, Chemistry and Physics (practical tests included) Mathematics or other elective subjects with English as prescribed or set by the NCERT, after introduction of 10+2+3 study structure as suggested by the National Committee on Education.

OR

CODE 03

 The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science from an Indian University/Board or other recognised examination body with Chemistry, Physics, Biology /Bio-technology (including practical tests) and English as a compulsory subject.

OR

CODE 04

The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination (including practical test) with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Bio-technology & English (compulsory) after passing either the Pre-University or the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent examination.

OR

CODE 05

The first year of the three years’ degree course from a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology (with practical tests) provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/ Bio-technology with English at a level not less than a core course.

OR

CODE 06

B.Sc. Examination from an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology, Chemistry, Physics and further he/ she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English.

OR

CODE 07

Any other examination which is found to be equivalent to Intermediate examination of an Indian University/Board with Biology/Bio-technology, Chemistry, Physics (including practical) and English subjects.

  1. Candidates must have passed (or appearing in 2018) any of the qualifying examination mentioned above. The candidate must have passed subjects Biology/Bio-technology, Chemistry, Physics and English individually. Along with this the candidate must secure the following minimum percentage marks in all the subjects taken together:

 Marks obtained in Mathematics will not be considered for admission in MBBS/BDS courses.

Students who have studied abroad should ensure that the qualifying exam passed by them is in the scope of above-mentioned standards.
